Client Hospitality

Entertaining your top clients effectively involves providing an innovative idea, backed up by a perfectly run event. A ski weekend is certainly a great solution and at The Corporate Ski Company we can work in the background to ensure a first class and smoothly operated event leaving you the time to network with your key clients.

In addition we can also incorporate the weekend to combine with an internationally famous event such as:

  • St Moritz Adrenaline Pump Weekend - (Cresta Run & Bob)
  • Chateau D’Oex Balloon Festival
  • The Weisse Schuss in Flims (down-hill festival)
  • White Turf (famous race horse race meeting on the lake in St Moritz)
  • 24 Heures Sur Glace in Chamonix (annual ice driving event in February)

Davos, Switzerland

Introduction

A leading investment bank wanted to host a VIP weekend for their top clients. It was essential to find a resort known worldwide for its top class skiing, and to find a first class hotel solution that the clients had not already been to, thus adding greater value to the event

Key Elements of the Brief

  • 60 clients and staff
  • 3 day duration
  • Top class location to entice clients to attend
  • 5 star deluxe quality hotel
  • Good European flight access
  • World-renowned skiing

The Solution

This was an event that we planned for a client who enjoys entertaining clients in the best European resorts. As the client had already visited Davos in the past and since we knew that this was a favourite resort, we felt that this was an acceptable solution. A reasonable transfer time with a high standard of accommodation satisfied their requirements.

Highlights & Challenges

  • Due to delegates arriving on separate flights, all delegates were transferred on an individual basis
  • Motivational speech by Joe Simpson, famous mountaineer and explorer
  • Traditional Swiss dinner in a mountain restaurant followed by a descent by toboggan!
  • The entire group were equipped with ski hire equipment prior to the first meeting session, which involved making special arrangements with the ski hire shop
  • All delegates were divided into 8 ski classes depending on ability and on the slopes within 30 minutes

Feedback

‘With many thanks for your fabulous help in organising the ski weekend in Davos. It has been a great success.’

Gstaad, Switzerland

Introduction

A leading I.T. company has held a winter ski weekend for many years but this year they wanted something extra!

Key Elements of the Brief

  • 20 persons
  • 5 star hotel with single occupancy accommodation
  • World renowned event to entice clients to attend the event
  • Skiing for all abilities

The Solution

We needed to find something that was different to any other ski weekend and therefore give them something to talk about for years to come. Having previously researched all major events in the Alps it was decided that the Chateau D’Oex Balloon Festival ticked all the right boxes and this was conveniently located close to the chic resort of Gstaad.

Highlights & Challenges

  • As this is a major event in the winter calendar, sourcing accommodation and group balloon flights was the most challenging aspect for The Corporate Ski Company.
  • The highlight was certainly the balloon flights and fireworks display

Feedback

‘Thank you so much for organising a fantastic event. This is certainly one to remember and exceeded our expectations.’

St. Moritz, Switzerland

Introduction

A global investment bank wanted to host a VIP weekend for its top clients in a well known resort. A 5 star service was required at all times in terms of hotel, restaurants, activities and all logistical arrangements.

Key Elements of the Brief

  • A high profile resort
  • 5 star accommodation
  • 35 persons
  • Group activities as well as skiing time
  • Fine dining and wines

The Solution

St. Moritz fitted the bill here as it certainly has the prestigious name and is a chic resort. It also boasts a range of fine quality hotels. Although the transfer time is fairly long, the content of the programme made up for this plus some individuals were able to fly into the local airfield to shorten the travel time.

Highlights & Challenges

  • Curling competition set up with different challenges
  • Private hire of mountain restaurant and chair lift
  • Ski race so it was necessary to arrange closure of the piste and security for this group
  • Reservation of a private area in one of the top nightclubs

Feedback

‘The best yet as has been confirmed by the consensus! A differentiating event and one that I believe few could ever beat in terms of objectives versus achievement. As ever you pulled the rabbit out for us and we are indebted. Thank you.’

Courchevel, Iscghl, Verbier, St Anton, Val d’Isere

Introduction

A private pharmaceutical manufacturer hosting its top customer groups from all over the UK. There are 3 separate groups of 10-11 people who each stay 4 days/3 nights back to back. The main hosts stay out the entire time.

Key Elements of the Brief

  • 12-13 delegates per group across 9 nights total (each group stays 3 nights)
  • Good flight access from the main UK airports including Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool & Birmingham
  • Very good quality hotel with spa facilities, pool & treatments & opportunities for group pre-dinner drinks & group breakfasts
  • Resort with plenty of skiing for all abilities
  • English speaking guides with a good sense of humour
  • Easy access to the slopes from the hotel, ideally ski in/ski out
  • Very lively resort with good apres ski, bars & clubs & range of restaurant
  • Avoiding UK school holidays

The Solution

We have run this trip for 6 years, 2016 will be the 7th. We fully understand the needs of the brief completely & know the hosts & the majority of their customers extremely well. All hotels we’ve booked were easily accessible to the slopes, had their own ski rental/storage, great facilities & a buzzing bar. Where access to the resort centre was not possible on foot, hotels provided free shuttles for our use both day & evening. Buses with the event manager serving drinks & nibbles on board transported each group seamlessly from airport to resort.

Highlights & Challenges

Upgrades to host rooms, group breakfasts, dedicated area for pre-dinner drinks in the bar nightly, best tables reserved in the mountain restaurants, VIP areas booked for apres-ski & with dedicated service

Courchevel, France

Introduction

A Global Investment Banking firm wanted to host some of its key clients in the Capital Markets sector. Ski weekends are such a great way to entertain and network with clients, plus they were aware that skiing is very popular amongst their guests, so a ski resort was the perfect chosen destination.

Key Elements of the Brief

  • 30 guests for 3 nights
  • Ski In / Ski out Hotel
  • Skiing for all abilities
  • 5 * Hotel
  • Good flight access from all over Europe
  • Good quality restaurants both on the mountain and for dinner
  • Private areas reserved in bars plus VIP areas in Clubs
  • Flexibility for guests to bring their partners/guests

The Solution

Courchevel proved to be the perfect solution as it is a well known resort with extensive skiing for all abilities. There are also many high quality hotels which are located on the slopes so ski in / ski out was possible, plus a ski lift next to the chosen hotel so guests did not have to go down to the main lift station and join the queues in the morning.

Highlights & Challenges

  • Last minute changes in itinerary
  • Arranging shuttles from the hotel to the bars in Courchevel 1850
  • Offering a dinner up the mountain in a rustic alpine restaurant followed by a toboggan run down the mountain and straight to some bars and clubs.
  • Arranging many arrival and departure transfers as guests came in on different flights, and being flexible with the numerous flight changes

Feedback

I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for all your help and support in the planning and execution of an amazing ski trip in Courchevel. We have had some fantastic feedback from the host team and clients. The hotel could not have done enough for our group. It was a great success.
