Incentives & Rewards

Incentive events are still proven to be the best way to recognise and reward your team and why not give them the ultimate reward with a dynamic trip to the mountains?

Not only providing first class accommodation and endless skiing, there are a whole host of additional activities that can be built into the programme to provide an unforgettable trip. The following are just a selection:

  • Heli-skiing
  • Parascending
  • Snow-mobiling
  • Bob sleigh runs
  • Dog sledding

Davos, Switzerland

Introduction

A leading supplier of office furniture put together an incentive scheme for its key dealers. The ski trip would be a reward for a the highest sales achievers.

Key Elements of the Brief

  • Approximately 35 delegates
  • 4 day duration
  • Accommodation in a 4 star hotel
  • Maximum 2hr transfer
  • Skiing for mixed abilities
  • Non-ski activities

The Solution

As this was the first event of its kind, we felt Davos was a good introduction as it has so much to offer - good quality hotels, vast ski area for all abilities, a range of alternative activities and good nightlife.

Highlights & Challenges

  • Co-ordinating various flights into Zurich from various airports within the UK & Ireland
  • High snowfall making logistics for delayed flights and transfers more complex
  • Fabulous dinner up the mountain with toboganning afterwards which was entertaining

Feedback

‘On behalf of the company I would like to thank you for organising the trip to Davos. The choice of resort was very different to where we have been before and was spectacular. We had amazing snow, fabulous food, the hotel was superb and the organisation was perfect. Melissa was efficient in every way and a great person to have along as part of the group. Our group is historically quite a handful and she coped marvellously.’

Åre, Sweden

Introduction

A leading drinks company with the most comprehensive portfolio in the industry. The purpose of this event was to incentivise sellers promoting a specific Swedish vodka over a period of time. A high target was set as the client only wanted 8-10 of the very best to earn a place on this special trip.

Key Elements of the Brief

  • A link to the drinks brand and availability of product for tasting tests (i.e. had to be Sweden)
  • A unique experience with winter (non-ski) activities
  • 10-12 delegates, all in single occupancy rooms ideally as they do not know each other
  • Only a 2 night midweek programme so flight routes/timings essential these maximised time in destination
  • Short transfer from local airport
  • A lively place with good bars and nightlife

The Solution

We chose Åre in Sweden. Although indirect flights, the stop in Stockholm is quick and timings are good, arriving lunchtime and departing late afternoon. We chose a resort (it’s the biggest & most well known in Sweden), because it is snow sure, offers a great variety of non-ski activities AND offers a buzzy apres ski & nightlife scene which was also a big box to tick for them!

Highlights & Challenges

  • Quaint & quirky hotel, walking distance to the heart of the resort and its leading brand of vodka was the client one!
  • The snowmobiling safari which took the group across two mountains & a fabulous wilderness stop for lunch
  • A reserved table at THE aprés-ski bar with live music all afternoon- vodka cocktails on tap!

Feedback

‘Both yourself and your local Swedish partner have been fantastic and I cannot fault any elements of the organisation… Really was top class.…we were looked after exceptionally well throughout. The experiences were again incredible and the team loved every element of the trip so it was definitely good to have something set up for each day. The food was stunning.’

Zermatt, Switzerland

Introduction

A Norwegian communications company wished to reward the high achievers from their UK sales staff with an all expenses paid ski weekend, including partners. This is a result of a long sales campaign.

Key Elements of the Brief

  • Event to be held pre-Christmas
  • 30 persons plus partners
  • Lively resort
  • Skiing for all abilities
  • Connecting flights from various UK regional airports

The Solution

As this event was to be held pre-Christmas we needed to source availability in a high altitude resort, plus ensure that this resort had some good nightlife as generally resorts are quieter before the festive season. Therefore Zermatt was the best solution as it has year round Glacier skiing and always has a good atmosphere.

Highlights & Challenges

  • Many regional flights and changes to cope with
  • Finding 3 suitable off-site dinners for the group
  • Organising horse drawn sleighs and tobogganning

Feedback

‘Thanks so much for organising a fantastic event. Everything from the pre-event organisation to making sure we found the best snow and the right bars ran so smoothly and we couldn’t have done this without your experience and help. Many thanks again and we hope to work with you next year.’

St. Anton, Austria

Introduction

An investment house arranges an annual winter event for its senior partners and sales staff. The ski trip would be a reward for the highest achievers in the company.

Key Elements of the Brief

  • Approximately 16 delegates
  • 3 day duration
  • Accommodation in a 5 star hotel
  • Maximum 2hr transfer
  • Skiing for mixed abilities
  • Great après ski

The Solution

As the client had already been to Verbier & St. Moritz, we needed to offer a resort that was comparable with these famous alpine destinations. As this was the third event of its kind, we felt St. Anton in Austria was the perfect resort as it has so much to offer - good quality hotels, excellent ski area for all abilities, a range of alternative activities and great nightlife.

Highlights & Challenges

  • Remote-hosting all aspects of the event rom the UK as the client did not require an onsite manager
  • Ensuring that all lunch, dinner and late night bars that we had pre-booked lived up to the clients exacting requirements and expectations
  • Ensuring that an injured guest received to correct care on arrival at Zurich airport for his return flight

Feedback

‘Awesome trip despite the mishaps. Thank you for everything. Hotel was fabulous, lunch and dinner choices superb and the ski guides were great. All new back now safe and sound - one with a new pin in his ankle, two with tummy bugs and a number with damaged livers! Everything went very smoothly and a huge thanks for the last minute buggy organisation! Good time had by all. See you soon’.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany

Introduction

A Finance company wanted to celebrate its 25th year in business by taking all its staff away for a weekend to reward them for their hard work and commitment. They had previously done this for their 20th anniversary to Grindelwald in Switzerland which had been a great success. They loved the idea of repeating another ski event as they felt it got all the staff involved and for the few that didn’t ski there were plenty of non-ski activities to choose from.

Key Elements of the Brief

  • 75 delegates for 2 nights
  • Good flight access with several flights so as to split the company
  • Skiing for all abilities
  • A nice environment for the non- skiers to enjoy with some activities to take part in
  • A good nightclub to party after their gala dinner
  • Good value for money

The Solution

Garmisch proved to be a good solution as it is a short transfer from Munich which has excellent flight access. The Obermuhle is an excellent 4 star hotel which worked perfectly for this group as it is located very close to the centre of town with access to good restaurants and the nightclub less than a 10 minute walk. Non-skiers could enjoy the use of all the hotels facilities, walk around the delightful town and also take part in group lunches up the mountain plus other activities.

Highlights & Challenges

  • Sourcing accommodation in a popular resort for a 2 night stay
  • Equip group with ski equipment in a very short time period on arrival night so they can get out to the slopes first thing on day one.
  • Transferring all the clients from the hotel to the slopes as it is a 5 minute drive
  • Splitting delegates into ski abilities with ski instructors/guides on the first morning
  • Offering non-ski activities such as snow shoeing and toboganning and spa treatments
  • Last minute changes to the main group Curling activity as the outside rink was not deemed good enough to use due to weather conditions and the back-up option of the inside ice-rink had a local competition taking place.

Feedback

‘Thank you for organising us such a fabulous trip and making everything run smoothly. Both you and Rupert were lovely to work with and we look forward to working with you in the future. We have had nothing but good feedback from everyone so it seemed to be a very successful weekend.’

Val D'Isere, France

Introduction

A Sales Incentive for the UK team of a management firm. As the client was unsure if targets would be met the brief only came in December with the group travelling in January – they wanted to ensure before they committed to the ski trip.

Key Elements of the Brief

  • 40 delegates for 4 nights
  • Resort with plenty of skiing for all abilities
  • Easy access to the slopes from the hotel
  • Lively resort with a good apres ski and ability to have access to VIP areas in clubs and bars
  • Good quality but not a 5 star budget

The Solution

We looked at various resorts for this brief, however bearing in mind that this was a lively group Val d’Isere was chosen even though it was the most expensive option. We were lucky to find space in this popular resort. The hotel was next to the slopes which was great for the mixed ability skiers, plus close to all the bars and clubs

Highlights & Challenges

  • Short lead time to source availability in a popular resort
  • Arranging reserved areas in Clubs/bars especially the Folie Douce so a charitable act could take place
  • Organising non-ski activities and making travel arrangements to meet with the ski groups for lunch

Feedback

Many thanks for your help with organising our trip, everyone had a great time! The transfers were good, the driver on the way to the hotel had to deal with a party on the bus and a detour for more drinks and McDonalds but dealt with it well. The hotel was lovely, nice rooms, good location and the staff on the whole were really helpful, nice and tolerant of our group as we can be a little lively at times!
