Team Building

The mountains provide a superb natural environment to host a wide spectrum of team building opportunities. Focusing on your agreed aims, team building events can be a very cost-effective way to instil loyalty or bond a new group of people. In conjunction with our activity partners, we will ensure that all of your participants learn valuable lessons whilst still having lots of fun. The following are just a few ideas!

  • Winter Olympics
  • Fun ski races
  • Igloo building
  • Sledging
  • Curling competition
  • Treasure hunts on the slopes
  • Snow tubing

Case studies:

Case Study 1: Chamonix

Introduction

A European retailer runs an incentive scheme each year for its store staff, and the travel incentive is a reward for the high achievers. On this occasion they took our advice and went for a winter destination but an important requirement was to provide activities for skiers and non-skiers.

Key Elements of the Brief

  • 50 delegates
  • 3 nights
  • Skiing and some team activities
  • Single occupancy rooms
  • Destination accessible from various UK regional airports plus the resort was to be within 1hr 30 mins transfer from airport
  • Tight budget

The solution

Chamonix was deemed the best solution as it is only a maximum 1½ hour transfer from Geneva airport which is accessible from various UK airports. The resort has a great village atmosphere with good restaurants, nightlife and of course skiing. We also have had experience of organising ‘winter games’ in this resort in recent years which always prove to be a success.

Highlights & challenges

  • Snow games (including slalom course with paret, sledge and snowscoot, speed course with paret, sledge and snowscoot, human curling game and bungee run)
  • Mountain Restaurant dinner with award ceremony
  • Private area reserved in top night club

Feedback

'Thanks so much for the organisation - everything went brilliantly and all the guys had a lovely time. The mix of activities was perfect as well.'

Case Study 2: Courchevel

Introduction

A global aerospace company hold an annual client ski event and this year they wanted to spice it up a bit and include some activities for the group. The resort, hotel and service needed to be of the highest standard and some interesting choice of activities was required.

Key Elements of the Brief

  • 60 guests
  • Luxury hotel
  • Well known resort
  • Range of activities available for skiers and no skiers, plus at least one afternoon of group activities/ games.

The Solution

As the group had previously visited Courchevel and as it was among the list of favourite resorts it was felt that it would be a good solution as it also offered opportunities for a variety of team building activities. The hotel selected was perfect for the group size and also boasted a ski in – ski out location.

Highlights & Challenges

  • The group were split into teams for a half day of Winter Olympics which included the following activities: tobogganing, snow-shoe racing, bigfoot ski racing, crossbow shooting, snowman building, snowball throwing, an avalanche bleeper hunt, 4 people on one ski racing and rubber tyre racing.
  • Dinner in a mountain restaurant plus a torch- lit toboggan descent.
  • Downhill ski race
  • Wine tasting
  • Non-ski activities such as dog sledding and a visit to the cheese factory.

Feedback

'I would like to express my thanks to the Corporate Ski Company for facilitating such a quality well managed event earlier this month in Courchevel. The feedback from our host was of the highest regard to the organizational skills of your team. The delegate feedback was outstanding and an event we will almost certainly be repeating next year.'

Case Study 3: Fuschl, Austria

Introduction

An International Electronics company asked us to arrange their European Conference and teambuilding event to bring together employees from the different markets.

Key Elements of the Brief

  • 60 persons in twin occupancy rooms
  • 2 nights over a weekend
  • A winter destination with half day skiing and a half day of teambuilding activities
  • Short transfer from nearest airport but also driving distance from Budapest
  • Tight budget but do not want to skimp on quality

The Solution

Finding a large number of rooms for a 2 night stay over a weekend proved to be difficult especially as this enquiry came in quite late in the season. After intense research it was decided that Fuschl would be a good solution as it is a lake resort located close to Salzburg, skiing only 20 minutes drive and lots of fun winter activities on offer.

Highlights & Challenges

  • Group activities to include human table football, Laser biathlon/ Shooting and snow tubing for a half day of team building games.
  • Organised a restaurant and nightclub exclusively for the group
  • Due to the poor snow it was arranged for part of the group to go to Salzburg for the day or the keen skiers went skiing in Obertauern.

Feedback

'You were instrumental in the event's success, and without your tireless efforts and enthusiasm then we would have been left floundering. The delegates felt that the hotel was terrific, that the arrangements were spot-on, they all thoroughly enjoyed the activities on Saturday, and that there was a range of choices for them on Sunday, put together with thoughtfulness and determination to get people to the places where they wanted to be. All in all a great event…thank you.'

'We had a really good time. Thanks for all your help organising a very successful weekend. I do hope we are able to repeat again next year!'
